These acquisitions bring Ranger’s total portfolio to thirteen strong, high-performing fire and security businesses across the UK and Ireland.
The latest purchases cap a successful year in which Ranger expanded significantly, making strong inroads into the South West in the UK and further strengthening its coverage in Ireland – advancing its mission to become the leading provider of fully integrated fire and security services across both markets.
The fire and security sector across the UK and Ireland continues to experience growing demand yet remains highly fragmented. Many high-skilled, specialist businesses excel within a small number of service areas, leaving clients to manage multiple providers to meet their compliance and safety needs. Hyperion identified an opportunity to overcome this by launching Ranger, a platform designed to unite best-in-class regional providers under one Group, enhancing collaboration, enabling greater cross-selling and delivering the broadest range of services on a national scale.
In less than two years, Hyperion has expanded Ranger significantly, adding highly successful businesses to the Group while preserving local leadership, brand recognition and the trusted customer relationships each has built.
This work was recognised earlier in the year when Hyperion won the 2025 Actum Buy & Build Value Creation Award for the successful launch and growth of the Ranger Group.

2025 Ranger Group acquisitions:
McGoff & Vickers Fire & Security Systems – A North West-based business providing fire protection services across both public and private sectors, including hospitals, councils and educational institutions.
IRN Security – An Inverness-based specialist in CCTV, alarm systems and integrated security solutions, and Ranger’s second acquisition in Scotland. Its customer base extends from Aberdeen to Glasgow.
Aqua Fire Prevention – A Dublin-based provider with 35 years’ experience in fire extinguisher maintenance, servicing and training, serving a large customer base across Ireland.
B-Safe Group – A fire safety specialist offering extinguisher servicing, health and safety training and fire consultancy. The business supports clients ranging from local firms to multinational pharmaceutical companies.
PDSL – Established in 2005, PDSL delivers fire, security and emergency response systems across Ireland, with strong presence in the Munster region and Galway. The business is recognised for its technical expertise, high installation standards and long-term customer partnerships.
Universal – Founded in 2001 and well-known across Devon and Cornwall, Universal provides a comprehensive suite of fire and security services with a strong focus on maintenance. Its customer-centric model aligns closely with Ranger’s nationwide strategy.
